Refinishing Process
With over 25 years of experience, we have developed an organized and effective process of refinishing your project quickly and efficiently.
How long does it take?
Most bathtub, shower enclosures, vanity tops, sinks and counter top projects are done the same day we start! We usually schedule the work early in the day and are cleared out and fully cleaned up by the end of that workday. However, it is important to point out that on occasion, some projects must take longer than one day. This is usually due to a more involved and extensive project.
What is needed for preparation?
We ask that you take a few minutes to clear out your personal items from the area that we will be working in prior to our arrival. If this is not possible, we gladly handle this for you. Because of the nature of the preparation and application chemicals we may use, we recommend that people and animals stay out of the room while we are applying the process and for about four hours after. Our employees will take great care to properly ventilate the area, but it’s best if you go to another part of the house and put the pets outside if possible.
For a strong, long lasting bond, proper preparation of the surface is mandatory. This part may involve tools and chemicals that our staff employs to do it right. This is one significant way that we differ from other tub reglazing companies – we go to great lengths when needed to prepare the surface. That is because it is a major factor in the durability and longevity of the reglazed project.
After Reglaze
Because of the chemicals involved must fully “set” to help them build durability and their long-lasting properties, we recommend that the surface is not used for the following time periods:
- Tub Reglazing: 2 full days
- Shower Enclosure: 2 full days
- Counter tops, Vanity Tops, etc.: 1 day
- Sinks: 1 day
Keep in mind, if you need a quicker setting time, please tell us ahead of time as we can use quicker drying materials. This may or may not have an additional cost, so please ask if it is important.
